Zwolle is a small Louisiana town of about 1,800 people in the piney woods near the Texas border. Highway 171 runs right through town, connecting north to Many and south to Leesville, with Highway 476 providing east-west access. The town sits in timber country with rolling hills and pine forests. Each October, Zwolle celebrates its surprising claim to fame as Louisiana's tamale capital with an annual festival.
