Zwingle is a tiny farming town of 76 people in eastern Iowa's Dubuque County, about 20 miles northwest of Dubuque via Highway 52. Most visitors arrive from Interstate 80 to the south or use County Road X31 from the west. Dubuque Regional Airport is 25 miles southeast. The town sits among rolling hills typical of the Mississippi River valley region. Despite its small size, Zwingle maintains its own post office, which doubles as the unofficial community meeting place where all 76 residents eventually cross paths.
