Yoncalla is a small Douglas County town of about 1,000 people located 30 miles south of Eugene on Interstate 5. Take Exit 162 and follow Highway 99 west into this quiet farming community nestled in timber country. The town sits in a scenic valley where Elk Creek flows through rolling hills dotted with Douglas fir and oak. It's the birthplace of 19th-century poet Joaquin Miller, known as the "Poet of the Sierras."
