Yeager is a tiny Hughes County community of 73 people in east-central Oklahoma, about 90 miles southeast of Oklahoma City. Reach it via Highway 9 east from Holdenville, or from OKC take I-40 east to Henryetta, then south on Highway 75 and west on Highway 9. The town sits near the site of an old Rock Island Railroad depot where grain elevators once dominated the prairie skyline.
