Yamhill is a small farming town of about 1,300 people in Oregon's wine country, 40 miles southwest of Portland. Take Highway 99W south through McMinnville, then Highway 18 west for 8 miles. The town sits in rolling hills perfect for vineyards and hazelnut orchards, with a mild climate year-round. It's a natural stop on Highway 18's route to the coast, and the historic Yamhill Valley Heritage Center occupies a restored 1900s railroad depot.
