Yale is a tiny farming town of 122 people in east-central South Dakota. Located on Highway 14, it's 15 miles west of Huron and surrounded by corn and soybean fields. Most visitors pass through on Highway 14 or drive the short route from Huron for local business. The town's grain elevator towers over the prairie, serving as a landmark visible for miles across the flat farmland.
