Wishek is a small farming town in south-central North Dakota, about 70 miles southeast of Bismarck. Highway 3 runs north-south through town, connecting to I-94 near Steele for access to major cities. The community of 849 residents celebrates its German-Russian heritage each September during Sauerkraut Day, a popular festival featuring traditional foods and cultural activities.
