Winton is a small town in northeastern North Carolina's Hertford County, positioned along US Highway 158 about 15 miles from the Virginia border. The main route through town connects west to Murfreesboro and east toward the Outer Banks, while NC Highway 11 provides north-south access. Drivers reach Interstate 95 by continuing west through Murfreesboro, about 30 miles total.
