Winters is a small agricultural city in Yolo County, about 30 miles from Sacramento and 20 miles northwest of UC Davis. Reach it via Interstate 505 north from I-80, or take Highway 128 from Davis heading west. The drive from Sacramento takes about 45 minutes, while Bay Area visitors need roughly an hour via I-80 to I-505. The city calls itself the "Gateway to Lake Berryessa" and hosts California's largest almond festival each February when thousands of surrounding almond trees bloom white.
