Winner is a small agricultural town in south-central South Dakota that serves as Tripp County's seat. Highway 18 runs east-west through town, while Highway 44 heads north to Pierre. Most visitors arrive via I-90 at Murdo, then take Highway 83 south to connect with Highway 18. The town of 2,900 sits on rolling prairie near the Rosebud Indian Reservation and still operates the Sunset Drive-In theater, one of the state's last remaining drive-ins since 1956.
