Winnemucca is a highway crossroads town in northern Nevada where I-80 and US 95 meet. It's a natural stopping point between Reno and Salt Lake City for cross-country travelers, and the main route connecting northern and southern Nevada. The airport is just southeast of downtown. The town hosts the unique Ranch Hand Rodeo each spring, where real cowboys compete in events based on actual ranch work.
