Winder is a small city in Barrow County, about an hour northeast of Atlanta via I-85 (Exit 126). Highway 211 serves as the main route through town, connecting to Athens about 30 miles east and providing access to local attractions. The city sits in Georgia's foothills at around 1,000 feet elevation, offering cooler summer temperatures than Atlanta.
