Windcrest is a small city northeast of San Antonio, built around nearby Air Force bases. Take I-35 north to Exit 174 (Walzem Road) from downtown San Antonio, about 15 miles. Loop 1604 and Highway 78 provide alternate routes. The whole city goes all-out for Christmas with an elaborate coordinated light display that's become a regional attraction.
