Winchester is an eastern Kentucky city of about 19,000 people, located 18 miles east of Lexington via the Mountain Parkway. It's the Clark County seat and sits in transitional terrain between the Bluegrass region and Appalachian foothills. The city serves as a natural stopping point on the Mountain Parkway corridor connecting Lexington to eastern Kentucky's mountain communities. Winchester is famous as the home of Ale-8-One, Kentucky's only native soft drink, bottled here since 1926.
