Wilton is a farming town of 600 people in central North Dakota, about 30 miles north of Bismarck on US Highway 83. Most visitors arrive via US 83 from Bismarck or take State Highway 200 for east-west travel. The town sits in rolling prairie country where wheat fields meet cattle ranches.
