Willow City is a small farming town of 238 people in north-central North Dakota, about 15 miles east of Bottineau via Highway 5. It sits near the Canadian border in rolling prairie country. The main routes are Highway 5 east-west and Highway 14 north-south, connecting to US 83 through Bottineau for trips to Minot or the border. The original 1905 wooden grain elevator still operates and towers over the surrounding wheat fields.
