Williamson is a tiny farming town of 190 people in south-central Iowa, about 40 miles south of Des Moines via I-35 and Highway 14. The area features rolling prairie farmland with the usual Iowa weather patterns. Most visitors arrive via Highway 14 from Chariton, while locals use County Road S-56 for regional trips. The town's 1875 one-room schoolhouse still stands as a piece of Iowa's rural school history.
