Williams is a tiny Minnesota town near the Canadian border, reachable via Highway 11 from Baudette (20 miles east) or International Falls (40 miles west). Highway 71 connects south to Bemidji, about 90 miles away. With under 250 residents, it sits in dense northwoods country with harsh winters and brief summers. The local post office has operated continuously since 1901.
