Willard is a small desert town of 248 people in central New Mexico's Torrance County, sitting at 6,200 feet elevation. Take I-40 east from Albuquerque for 45 miles to Moriarty, then US 60 west for 15 miles. The town sits on US 60's east-west route between Socorro and Roswell, with State Road 42 connecting north-south through the Estancia Valley. The 1903 railroad depot still stands as a reminder of Willard's days as a Santa Fe Railway division point.
