Whitewright lies about 60 miles northeast of Dallas along US Highway 75, a straight shot through McKinney that takes roughly an hour. This Grayson County town of 1,600 sits in rolling North Texas countryside where summer heat can top 100 degrees and winter ice storms occasionally make rural roads tricky. State Highway 11 provides east-west access while US 69 connects from Greenville to the east. The original railroad depot still stands downtown, now serving as a community center.
