Whiteside is a tiny Lincoln County community about 45 miles northwest of St. Louis, reached via Interstate 70 and Highway 61 before turning onto rural county roads. Most visitors come from the St. Louis area, while locals use County Road 314 and other farm roads connecting to Troy and Winfield. The historic one-room schoolhouse from 1898 remains the town's most notable landmark.
