Whitehouse is a small East Texas city of about 9,000 people located 10 miles southeast of Tyler via State Highway 110. The town sits among pine forests and rolling hills, with Highway 155 providing east-west connections to nearby communities. Tyler Pounds Regional Airport is about 15 miles northwest for air travelers. The city gets its name from a white-painted general store that doubled as the post office in the 1800s.
