Whitehall is a residential city of 20,000 in Franklin County, just 8 miles southeast of downtown Columbus via US Route 40 (East Broad Street). Interstate 70 runs along the northern edge, connecting to major cities like Indianapolis and Pittsburgh, while State Route 317 provides north-south access to I-270. The city operates its own municipal electric utility, one of the few remaining in Ohio, serving residents since 1935.
