Whitecone is a small Navajo Nation community of 800 people in northeastern Arizona's high desert, sitting at 6,000 feet elevation. Reach it via State Route 264, either from Window Rock (30 miles east) or Tuba City (90 miles west), with connections to I-40 at Gallup. The town gets its name from a distinctive white-capped volcanic cone that serves as a landmark across the red rock landscape.
