Whiteash is a small Williamson County community of about 300 people in southern Illinois. Access is via State Route 13 from Interstate 57, with Marion 15 miles east serving as the main hub for services and shopping. The Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois provides regional flights nearby. The town got its name from the white ash trees that once covered the area.
