White is a small farming town in eastern South Dakota, about 15 miles west of Brookings on Highway 14. Most visitors drive through on their way between Brookings and the western part of the county, though some come specifically to see the restored 1920s grain elevator that still operates during harvest. The town sits in typical prairie farmland and has fewer than 500 residents. It's a 20-minute drive from Brookings or about an hour from Sioux Falls via I-29 north and Highway 14 west.
