White Pine is a small Tennessee town of 2,500 people in Jefferson County's Appalachian foothills. Highway 25E runs through town, with Interstate 81 just to the west connecting travelers to Knoxville (45 minutes) or Bristol (1 hour). Most local traffic uses Highway 25E south to Morristown, the county seat 12 miles away. The town got its name from the massive white pine trees that once covered the area.
