Wheeler Air Force Base sits in central Oahu, about 25 miles from Honolulu via H-1 to H-2 north, then Highway 99. The base occupies the Wahiawa plateau between two mountain ranges and serves as home to the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade. Those massive concrete hangars from the 1930s still dominate the flight line today.
