Wheatley is a small farming town in Arkansas's Delta region, accessible via Highway 1 from Interstate 40 at Forrest City. The drive from Little Rock takes about 90 minutes east on I-40, then north through flat agricultural country. Local routes connect nearby delta communities, while longer trips bring visitors from Little Rock and Memphis. The town's post office has operated continuously since 1898 in one of the original buildings from its railroad days.
