Wheatland is a small Central Valley farming town about 40 miles north of Sacramento along Highway 65. Most visitors drive up from Sacramento via I-80 to Highway 65, or use Highway 99 through the valley. The area serves Beale Air Force Base and surrounding agricultural communities. The restored 1907 railroad depot downtown now houses a local history museum.
