Westphalia is a tiny farming town of 117 people in western Iowa's Shelby County, about 15 miles from Harlan and an hour from Omaha. Reach it via Highway 44 from Harlan or county roads from I-80 at Atlantic. The settlement centers around historic St. Boniface Catholic Church, built by German immigrants in the 1880s.
