Westland is a Detroit suburb in Wayne County, 18 miles west of downtown via I-94 and just 8 miles from Detroit Metro Airport. Major routes include I-275 along the eastern edge, I-94 to the south, and Michigan Avenue through the city center. Popular drives include quick airport runs and commutes north to Livonia and Plymouth via Ford Road and I-275. The city houses Westland Shopping Center, one of Michigan's first enclosed malls from 1965.
