West Orange is a small Texas city of 3,400 people located along Interstate 10, about 20 miles from Beaumont and 120 miles east of Houston. Most traffic uses I-10 Exit 877, with State Highway 87 connecting to Orange and local areas. The flat terrain and humid climate typical of Southeast Texas make for straightforward driving, though heavy rains can cause temporary flooding. West Orange was home to the historic Stark Brothers Nursery, one of the South's largest fruit tree operations.
