West Hamlin is a small river town of 567 people in Lincoln County, about 40 miles southwest of Huntington via US Route 10. The highway follows the Guyandotte River valley through rolling hills typical of southern West Virginia. Most traffic is local commuting to Huntington or regional travel toward Logan. The town's post office has operated continuously since 1925 in the same modest building.
