Welsh is a small Louisiana city on Interstate 10, about halfway between Lake Charles and Lafayette. The town sits in rice farming country, with Highway 99 running north-south through the center. Most visitors pass through on I-10, though US 90 offers a scenic alternative route through rural Jefferson Davis Parish. Welsh hosts the annual Louisiana Rice Festival each October.
