Wellsville is a small Ohio River town of about 3,000 people, located 40 miles west of Pittsburgh in eastern Ohio's rolling hill country. State Route 11 runs north-south through town, connecting to East Liverpool and other river communities, while Route 39 crosses the river into West Virginia. Most visitors drive from Pittsburgh via US Route 30 to Route 11 south, about a 45-minute trip. The town's 1909 Carnegie Library stands as a reminder of Andrew Carnegie's nationwide library-building campaign.
