Wellsburg sits along the Ohio River in West Virginia's northern panhandle, connected by US Route 2 and State Route 8. Most visitors arrive from Wheeling (12 miles south) or Pittsburgh (45 miles northeast), following the scenic river corridor. The city serves as a stop on the Ohio River Scenic Byway and is home to the historic Brooke Glass Company building, a massive 1913 red brick structure that still dominates the riverfront.
