Wells River is a tiny village of 340 people where the Wells River meets the Connecticut River in northeastern Vermont. Located right off Interstate 91 at Exit 17, it's a convenient stop between White River Junction (25 miles south) and St. Johnsbury (30 miles north), with Route 302 connecting west to Montpelier. The village was once an important railroad junction featuring a covered railroad bridge across the Connecticut River.
