Wells is a small farming town right off I-35 in south-central Minnesota, about 20 miles south of Albert Lea and 100 miles from Minneapolis. It's a convenient pit stop on the main route between the Twin Cities and Iowa, with US 169 also passing through. The area is classic Minnesota prairie country with rolling farmland. The town keeps its 1901 railroad depot as a museum with vintage train cars.
