Wellman is a farming town in southeastern Iowa, about 20 miles southwest of Iowa City via Highway 22. The main routes are Highway 22 east-west and Highway 1 north-south, connecting to Interstate 80 and other regional roads. The area features typical Iowa farmland with corn and soybeans. The town generates power from its own community wind turbine visible from Highway 22.
