Wellington is a tiny farming town of 165 people in east-central Illinois, about 90 miles south of Chicago. Located on State Route 1, it's accessible via I-57 south from Chicago to US-17 east, or from Indianapolis via I-65 north to US-24 west. The area is flat prairie farmland with a continental climate. Electric vehicle charging is limited, so plan stops in Danville or along the I-57 corridor. The town's historic concrete grain elevator towers over the surrounding cornfields as a distinctive landmark.
