Weiser sits 70 miles northwest of Boise in Idaho's Payette River valley, reached via US Highway 95. The county seat lies 10 miles from Oregon and draws visitors mainly from Boise or via Highway 95 from Lewiston. Each June, it becomes the "Fiddling Capital of the World" during the National Oldtime Fiddlers' Contest.
