Weir is a small farming town in southeastern Kansas, eight miles from the Oklahoma border. US Highway 69 runs north-south through town, connecting to Pittsburg and continuing toward Joplin, Missouri. The distinctive red and white checkerboard water tower serves as a local landmark visible from the highway.
