Weinert is a tiny farming town in north-central Texas, about 60 miles northwest of Abilene. You'll find it along US Highway 380, which connects to Throckmorton in the east and Haskell in the west. Most visitors come from Abilene via US 277 north to Throckmorton, then US 380 west. The town of 235 sits in classic Texas plains country with cotton fields stretching in all directions. Its most striking landmark is a towering 1920s grain elevator that's visible for miles.
