Weimar sits along Interstate 10 about 75 miles west of Houston, making it a convenient stop on the main route between San Antonio and Houston. The small Colorado County city of nearly 3,000 sits at the junction of US Highway 90 and State Highway 71, with Highway 71 providing access northwest toward Austin. The town is known for Kasper's Store, Texas's oldest continuously operating general store, which has served customers since 1882 with its original tin ceiling intact.
