Weddington is a suburban town in Union County, about 20 miles southeast of Charlotte via Providence Road or I-485. The community developed around major road intersections and serves as a bedroom community for Charlotte commuters. Visitors typically arrive on Providence Road (Highway 16) from Charlotte or via I-485 to Exit 51. The Weddington Hunt Club still practices traditional fox hunting with formal protocols and hunting horns.
