Weatherby is a tiny farming community in northwest Missouri's DeKalb County, about 45 miles northeast of Kansas City. Take US Highway 36 east from Cameron or west from Chillicothe to reach this agricultural area of rolling plains and crop fields. The town of just 75 residents still operates its own post office, a remnant from its 19th-century founding along early farm-to-market routes.
