Wayzata is an upscale lakeside town on Lake Minnetonka, 15 miles west of Minneapolis via I-394 and Highway 12. The main routes include Highway 12 running east-west and Highway 101 north-south, with winding lakefront drives connecting various bays. Summer brings heavy traffic to beaches and waterfront dining, while winter requires careful driving on icy roads. The 1906 railroad depot downtown now houses the Chamber of Commerce.
