Waverly is a college town of about 10,500 in northeast Iowa, built around Wartburg College's limestone campus along the Cedar River. Highway 218 runs right through town, connecting to Waterloo 15 miles south, while Highway 3 provides the main east-west route. The Neumann Auditorium's 42-bell carillon tower chimes across downtown from the college campus.
