Waveland is a Gulf Coast city of 7,000 in Hancock County, positioned between Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian. US Highway 90 runs right through town along the shoreline, connecting to Biloxi and Gulfport eastbound or New Orleans (60 miles west). Most visitors arrive via Interstate 10, then drop south to Highway 90 for the coastal approach. The city sits directly on the Gulf of Mexico with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Buccaneer State Park offers beachfront camping with direct Gulf views.
